For Nashville residents and visitors, the house call is back – with a modern twist. Dose Healthcare, a Nashville-based startup, today launched its new “on-demand” urgent care house call service, the first of its kind in the Music City.
With the click of a button, Dose, as the company’s founders have affectionately dubbed it, can deliver a healthcare provider to your doorstep in about the same amount of time it takes to order a pizza. And the price? It’s surprising reasonable. A visit will cost you just $129 (or $199 after-hours), and most insurers will reimburse you the fee same as they would for any out-of-network office visit.
Anyone who has ever come down with an unexpected illness or injury (i.e. everyone) knows that there is no good option for medical treatment. You either spend days waiting for an appointment with your primary care doctor, or you drag yourself to the urgent care clinic and spend two hours in a crowded waiting room just to be pushed out the door once your alloted six minutes with the provider are up. And what happens when the clinic is closed? Well let’s just say it involes a dirty word that rhymes with insurgency broom.
Dose services are available in the Nashville Metro Area seven days a week from 8am to midnight. For more information or to schedule a visit, go to www.dosehealthcare.com or give them a call at (615) 861-1666.
