TotalHousehold To Gift Self-Sustaining Garden Jars In Weekly Sweepstakes

TotalHousehold is giving away another unique item for the home during its weekly Fab Furnishings giveaway sweepstakes. Starting Monday, December 2, visitors can enter to win 4 self-sustaining garden jars from Modern Sprout until Sunday, December 8, by visiting TotalHousehold.com or the Totalhousehold Facebook page.

Modern Sprout was founded by team Nick Behr and Sarah Burrows. The pair wanted to grow flowers, vegetables and herbs in their small Chicago apartment, but despite their green thumbs Nick and Sarah found it difficult to keep their little garden thriving due to their busy schedules. To remedy this situation, the couple developed self-sustaining home planters. Using hydroponics, a method of cultivation with a soilless medium, Nick and Sarah have gone on to create streamlined planter designs fit for low maintenance gardening.

Their newest creation is the Garden Jar. The design is simple and stylish. It utilizes wicking, a passive hydroponics technique, to bring water up to plant roots.  Each set comes ready to use with a net pot, soilless grow medium, plant nutrients, polypro wick and seeds. All that these jars need are a sunny window and some water.  The herbs available are Organic Basil, Greek Oregano, Organic Parsley and Mint. The vintage mason jar that houses the herbs is available in blue, amber, pink or green.  The winner of TotalHousehold’s Fab Furnishings giveaway sweepstakes will win 4 of these Garden Jars, one in each color and herb.
