If you recently moved to the Bethesda, Maryland area – or if you’re planning to relocate soon – and you’re unsure of how to spend the warm summer days with your family, The Estridge Group, an award-winning team of REALTORS serving the Bethesda and Washington, DC areas, has provided a list of some of its favorite springtime activities and amenities.

McCrillis House and Gardens

The team at the Estridge Group recommends taking your family to see the beautiful McCrillis House and Gardens at least once during the spring and again in the fall. It’s a natural garden that’s kept right inside one of Bethesda’s residential neighborhoods, making it easy to find and free from busy traffic. You’ll get to see all kinds of flowers, trees, and shrubs depending on the time of year, and if you’ve read the book The Secret Garden, you may feel a little awestruck, too. If you enjoy it, you can rent the house and gardens for your upcoming celebrations.

The Bethesda Trolley Trail

The trolley trail is a four-mile path that connects Bethesda to North Bethesda by linking two major highways. It’s perfect for families who prefer low-impact recreation or quick bike rides with the kids, and parking is available at the Fleming Local Park just off Fleming Road. It takes its name from a trolley that used to run through the area. Though the trolley was abandoned long ago, you can still walk along the path.

The KID Museum

Though you might associate springtime with warm sunshine, the truth is that it rains quite a bit in spring in the Bethesda area. If you’re looking for a way to keep busy on a rainy day – and you’re looking for entertainment for your whole family – the KID Museum is an excellent choice. It’s an innovative learning environment and museum built just for kids, and through hands-on learning that promotes STEM, art, and culture, it’s the perfect rainy day getaway for your family. You can find it at Davis Library for now, but it will be moving to a larger home in the future.

If you’re considering moving to Bethesda, Maryland and you’re looking for things to do, these activities are sure to please everyone in the family.
