South West Holiday Park Operator Goes Zero To Landfill

As of 25th March 2019, John Fowler Holidays waste management will be completely zero to landfill. The holiday park operator have partnered with the South West’s leading independent commercial waste handling firm (DCW – Devon Contract Waste). DCW will look after all of their waste streams and provide them with their Zero to landfill initiative.

Zero to landfill means that no waste from any John Fowler Holiday Parks will go to landfill in this country or anywhere in the world. All the recyclable goods (plastic, cardboard, tin etc) will be sorted and turned into reusable products such as staff uniform, milk bottles, storage containers etc.

The remaining non-recyclable goods will be turned into renewable energy and the left over ashes go through another process to be made biodegradable (less than 1% and safe for environment).

The South West holiday provider operates 11 holiday sites across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. Becoming Zero to Landfill will save resources and energy in these regions and will reduce their carbon footprint.
