After purchasing the original Johnston, RI based company, “Shannon Motors Service Station and Dealership” back in 1979 from Jack Shannon, brothers Gary and John kept the name and focused their energy on buying and selling cars through retail and wholesale distribution.

They started with just 6 cars, parked outside a gas station/repair shop. By 1984 they had already expanded and began to experiment in the retail side of things by selling pre-owned vehicles.  As time went on, they realized there was a need to help people who were being turned away by other dealerships due to credit challenges or lack of established credit. Based on this discovery, Shannon Motors started financing their own vehicles. They eventually grew further by adding 3 additional locations. The ongoing vision of 2 brothers has resulted in selling over 25 thousand cars in the past 40 years.

By building relationships one customer at a time, showing integrity and innovation in every action, and always striving for excellence – Shannon Motors became a trusted name for local Rhode Island and Massachusetts residents.

Gary and John accomplished a lot in 40 years. Including receiving the New England Independent Auto Dealer Association “Dealer of the Year” award twice in a row.
