Planet Technology USA Introduces Single-Port 10Gbps 95-Watt PoE++ Injector

Planet Technology USA (PLANET), a division of Versa Technology, supplying cost-effective last-mile PoE networking solutions, announces the release of its newest Power over Ethernet (PoE) injector, the POE-176-95 Single-Port, 802.3bt PoE++. This latest last-mile, IT networking solution allows older networks the capability to add a newer, more sophisticated powered device, requiring up to 95 watts of power and 10Gbps of data at a distance of up to 100m (328 feet) over a single, 4-pair Ethernet cable.

The PLANET POE-176-95 is a Type 4 injector and is equipped with two 10M/100M/1G/2.5G/10GBASE-T RJ45 copper interfaces to handle extensive data sets, making it perfect for devices used within data-heavy and remote environments. These include technologies such as healthcare equipment, point of sales, and retail, government building and transit center displays.

"The POE-176-95 allows networks with Type 1 and Type 2 PoE to connect to one of the new, Type 4 95-Watt IoT devices and receive up to 10Gbps of data without having to add a switch," says Joe Williams, Director of Distributed Sales. Application 1: backward capability allows the addition of PTZ speed dome cameras, color touchscreen, VoIP phones and multichannel wireless LAN access points to legacy networks.

Application 2: with the addition of a PoE splitter, it extends the installation of application 1 to remote locations such as the tops of the buildings.

Application 3: a basic installation of 100m (328 ft) installations to achieve IP surveillance and long-distance camera distribution. The addition of an extender achieves up to 200m (656 ft).

Offering multiple data rates and a high compatibility DIP switch for 802.3bt force mode (60W of power to PDs that do not fully follow the IEEE 802.3af/at/bt standards), the POE-176-95 can reach a high speed of 10Gbps, making it the best match for any devices requiring 10Gbps data rate and ultra-power network applications. These include Thin clients, AIO touch screen PCs, and remote digital signage. Additionally, Intelligent LED indicator for PoE Mode and Real-time PoE Usage, helps users monitor the current status of power usage at either 30W/60W/90W+ LED display status.
