Denver, CO (PRUnderground) August 26, 2025

Starting Aug. 26, Intermountain Health Saint Joseph Hospital patients will receive anesthesia care from Sound Anesthesia.

Sound Anesthesia, part of the national multi-specialty physician group Sound Physicians, based in Nashville, Tennessee, includes medical practice leaders, anesthesiologists, and certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) who will work full time, side by side with surgeons and caregivers at Saint Joseph Hospital.

Anesthesiologists and CRNAs are trained clinicians who manage the care of patients during medical or surgical procedures through drug administration that reduces or eliminates pain. They are important in labor and delivery units for laboring mothers who request help managing pain and during cesarean deliveries.

“We are confident that our partnership with Sound Anesthesia will strengthen our anesthesia services and enhance the experience for our patients and surgeons alike,” said John Tynes, MD, chief medical officer at Saint Joseph Hospital.

“This marks an exciting new chapter as we work together to enhance surgical care and ensure our continued excellence in patient safety and providing an excellent work environment for surgeons,” Dr. Tynes said.

“Our team is committed to providing exceptional, safe, and comfortable perioperative care for the patients of Saint Joseph,” said Dr. David Leachman, CEO of Sound Anesthesia. “We’re grateful to have a collaborative partner in Saint Joseph and feel fortunate to serve this community.”

Saint Joseph Hospital provides a broad range of surgical services and medical procedures including general surgery, heart, bariatric, orthopedic, spine, gynecologic, breast, lung, plastic and reconstructive, and more, as well as labor and delivery services.
