Grassi Studio
Grassi Studio is a family-owned business that has been known in the world of dealing and collecting Old Master works since the late 19th century. Its history began in Florence, Italy with Prof. Luigi Grassi, a professional paintings restorer trained at the Rome Academy and reputable art dealer active since the 1860s. By 1900, Luigi Grassi already had a beautiful gallery known as “Luigi Grassi and Sons,” which soon became a must-visit destination for any collector of exceptional paintings, sculptures, furniture, and other works of art.
After Luigi’s death, the gallery in Florence was closed and its remaining collection was sold. Arturo Grassi, one of Luigi Grassi’s sons, however, continued the family business as a private dealer of Old Master paintings in New York. For today, Grassi Studio represents a father-and-son partnership of Marco and Matteo Grassi. Marco Grassi, the son of Arturo and the father of Matteo, is a professional fine arts conservator who has a private studio in SoHo, NYC, while Matteo Grassi is a reputable European art dealer based in France. This American-French family partnership has made Grassi Studio one of the best places in New York to come for original Old Master paintings, and we are so happy that these wonderful people have chosen Fine Art Shippers to work with them. Shipping fine art for Grassi Studio is an honor for our team, and we definitely look forward to working with the Grassi family again!
