Driving Successful Lives Inc. Launches National PFAS Advocacy Initiative for Municipal Water Systems, Tribal Nations, and Concerned Citizens Across America

Driving Successful Lives Inc., a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping communities across America, is launching a nationwide PFAS awareness and advocacy initiative focused on protecting municipal water systems, supporting tribal nations, educating citizens, and helping local communities navigate rapidly approaching federal drinking water compliance requirements.

PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances), commonly referred to as “forever chemicals,” have become one of the largest environmental and public health concerns facing public water systems in the United States. These man-made chemicals have been linked to serious health risks, including cancers, immune system disorders, thyroid disease, liver damage, and groundwater contamination. PFAS chemicals persist in the environment for decades and are commonly associated with industrial manufacturing, military installations, airports, firefighting foam usage, and landfill contamination.

According to nationwide findings, PFAS contamination has now been identified in all 50 states, with some of the highest concentrations found in states such as:

• New Jersey

• North Carolina

EPA Regulations Create Urgent Compliance Deadlines

Public water systems nationwide are now required to complete monitoring, reporting, public notification, and remediation planning under strict federal deadlines.

Communities that exceed allowable contamination levels may be required to implement costly treatment technologies such as:

Multiple tribal entities across the United States have already pursued legal action and settlement participation involving contamination affecting reservation lands, groundwater systems, fisheries, and protected tribal resources.

The organization encourages tribal leaders and reservation water authorities to seek information regarding:
