Dr. Amir Talaei-Khoei and his team at University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) are investigating the role of Instagram Influencers on people’s lifestyle during COVID-19 quarantine. The COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine mitigation measures have had a catastrophic impact on people’s lives. This has created a movement among Instagram influencers to promote a healthy lifestyle to deliver health messaging during quarantine.
Through an interdisciplinary research, Associate Professor Amir Talaei-Khoei has looked into how individuals conform to healthy lifestyle norms introduced by an Instagram influencer and what is the role of social media in this conformity process. Dr. Amir Talaei-Khoei and his team have run a large survey to understand how much Instagram influencers derive the way we live, even in hard times like pandemic. Dr. Amir Talaei-Khoei’s study provides a detailed understanding of culture and social media usage resulting in our behaviors and interactions.
