Defying All Odds: How Double J Productions Produced an Oscar and BAFTA Qualifying Film During the Pandemic

There is no doubt that the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted various industries, and halting purpose-driven projects due to lockdowns and shutdowns across the globe. The film and television industry was one of the hardest hit, as most movies and shows could not begin or finish filming. The industry suffered immense losses and even the movies that did get completed were not watched due to theatres being closed.  In turn, many studios shut down and laid off employees as there were significantly fewer projects and fewer jobs for actors, actresses, and behind-the-scenes roles. That said, one UK-based independent production company defied all odds to produce a short film with a powerful message. 

Double J Productions, is proud to announce that their short film Physique has been accepted into the LA International Film Festival, to qualify for both the Oscars and BAFTA.
