Comedian Terry Withers To Teach Improv Comedy Classes For The Radical Agreement Project

The Radical Agreement Project announces that founder Terry Withers will begin teaching affordable improv comedy classes online. Classes are to start in May, 2021 and will follow a simply pricing structure.  Four (4) ninety (90) minute online classes plus a class show for only $50.  Interested parties can review class offerings here.

This new offering is a stark departure from the project’s activity over the last six months, which has focused on offering free improv training sessions for professionals in the fields of Learning & Development and/or Human Resources.  Those sessions, offered daily, will continue.  The new comedy classes will be an added offering.

“I was very surprised when Radical Agreement participants started asking me whether I taught or coached improv.  Of course I do and have for a very long time,” explained Radical Agreement founder Terry Withers.  “I got my start in improv at the UCB Theatre in NYC.  I began teaching there in 2012 and have been running classes ever since.  With the pandemic and the resulting Zoom fatique, I kinda thought those days were over at least for a bit. I guess not!”

Participant Mary Daca was one of the first to ask for a class. “I like the free sessions and I think they have good application for work.  But I wanted soemthing more in depth.  The free sessions are only 30 minutes and it’s new people participating every time.”

The first class offered is called Collaboration In Improv Comedy and is designed for beginner to intermediate level students.  The class description from the website reads:

COLLABORATION IN IMPROV COMEDY

This 4 session class will focus on strategies, mindsets, and exercises aimed at improving collaboration.  Designed for beginner to intermediate level improvisers.  If you don’t know what your scene partner is trying to do, how can you help them do it?

1st Class – Sun, 5/2/21, 7 to 8:30 PM

2nd Class – Sun, 5/9/21, 7 to 8:30 PM

3rd Class – Sun, 5/16/21, 7 to 8:30 PM

4th Class – Sun, 5/23/21, 7 to 8:30 PM

Class Show – Sun, 5/30/21, 8 to 8:30 PM

On the past six months of activity, founder Terry Withers commented, “You know, the goal has always been to spread the love and knowledge of improv.  Hopefully people take one or a few of the free sessions and then feel ready to return to their offices and lead an exercise or two on their own. That’s happening and that’s great!  And I’ll say, extremely rewarding to see my weird project work as intended.”
