Cizmar, the founder of MC+A (one of the leading vendors of the Google Search Appliance) disclosed Yippy’s deep relationship with IBM. He told Beyond Search, a daily news service covering information access, in an exclusive interview:
“Yippy’s license to use Watson Explorer (with its sophisticated cloud clustering technology, as well as categorization, de-duplication, and relevance methods that provide an excellent search experience) is a key part of Yippy.”

Yippy is positioning itself as the leading replacement of the Google Search Appliance. In May 2016, Yippy announced its acquisition of MC+A, one of the largest integration and services firms supporting the Google Search Appliance. MC+A’s president, Michael Cizmar, has joined Yippy’s management team as head of its Enterprise Search division.
Cizmar, a Google reseller of the year, also announced that Yippy was working on a new “Connector Framework.” Yippy wants to provide more than third-party filters to acquire content from standard office applications, Web pages, and legacy systems. Cizmar told Beyond Search that Yippy’s approach will provide its customers with a better way to deal with diverse content types. He said,
“Traditional one-off filters are not appropriate for today’s Big Data world and the diverse content our customers have to index and make accessible.”
Cizmar, trained as an engineer and computer scientist, provided a glimpse of Yippy’s possible new service. He said in response to Yippy’s next big thing after clustering, and on-the-fly classification of content:
“To give you a teaser, Yippy is indexing the entire Internet.”
With criticism about the relevance of search results from the well-known Internet search systems, Yippy senses an opportunity.
