Ford are set to unveil their new ECOnetic models of the popular Focus and Fiesta at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor show.

Ford are set to unveil their new ECOnetic models of the popular Focus and Fiesta at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor show.
Ford claim these will be the most fuel efficient cars of their class available in Europe which are not hybrid vehicles. The Focus will be get 83.1mpg and produce just 89g/km of CO2 emissions from its 105PS 1.6ltr Duratorq engine. The Fiesta will have the same engine but getting 95PS, 85.6mpg and producing 87g/km in emissions.
The ECOnetic models are able to a achieve their great efficiency by using a range of features including stop/start technology, aerodynamic design, gearshift indicator, regenerative breaking and an Eco mode that provides suggestions on improvements to driving styles.
This new ECOnetic technology is set to be introduced to the Mondeo, Galaxy, C-Man, Grand C-Max and S-Max models as well as the Focus and Fiesta by the end of 2011. This rollout of the ECOnetic technology is part of Ford’s sustainability strategy which aims to reduce its vehicle’s Carbon Dioxide emissions by 30% by 2020.
