Vetted Wellness Clinic, America’s First/Only Preventative Pet Health Clinic, Opens in Chicago

The Vetted Wellness Clinic has opened at the River North PUPS Pet Club at 316 W. Illinois Street in Chicago.  The new clinic is a partnership between Vetted and the PUPS Pet Club and is the first facility of its kind in the country to offer comprehensive and extended preventative healthcare for dogs and cats.

Cadena was inspired to develop Vetted after spending almost three months as an observer at the Veterinary Emergency Group in Lincoln Park in 2020.  She discovered that most of the emergencies that were being treated – including oral disease, ear infections, skin cracking/bleeding/infections, lesions, digestive ailments, anxiety attacks, arthritis, and hip/joint issues – were completely preventable, according to the attending doctors.  Cadena decided to pursue the development of a startup that would educate pet parents about how to maintain the health of their dogs and cats instead of waiting until problems became expensive, painful, and life-threatening.

“Keeping our beloved pets well and wagging is so easy to do – all it takes is a little education and effort,” says Cadena, who is a 2022 MBA graduate of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Executive Education.  “The team at the Vetted Wellness Clinic will support pet parents with essential guidance that veterinarians frequently don’t have the time to provide during office visits such as recommendations on at-home dental care, hip and joint care, the most engaging and stimulating toys to buy, how to prevent complications with behavior, allergies, overall health, and so much more.”

Along with overall preventative healthcare advice and instruction, services that are offered at the Vetted Wellness Clinic include general wellness exams, vaccinations, microchipping, flea/tick/heartworm prevention and testing, preventative blood work, behavioral consults, allergy treatments, and ear, skin, and stool testing.  Pet parents will leave their appointment with the Vetted app, which delivers 24/7 support with a team of veterinary professionals and waived exam fees at the Veterinary Emergency Group, which are the exclusive ER partners of the Vetted Wellness Clinic.
