Veterinarian, Acupuncturist and Author Dr. Liz Fernandez Accepts Position as a K9 Awards Judge

“Through my practice, I have witnessed firsthand the impact the right diet has on the health and happiness of dogs,” said Dr. Liz Fernandez, DVM.  “As a K9 Awards judge, I am excited to extend my mission to support all beings in engaging their innate healing abilities through the power of good nutrition.”

Listening to the call of her heart from an early age, Dr. Liz Fernandez chose to pursue a life’s work based on what she loved — animals.  Her career has taken her from general practice to emergency medicine to holistic practitioner. It has been an amazing journey that she finds as rewarding today as when she graduated over 30 years ago from UC Davis Veterinary School.  She became a Certified Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine Practitioner after completing certifications in veterinary acupuncture, Chinese herbology, tui-na*, and Chinese food therapy.  Since 2002 she has owned the housecall practice Acupuncture for Pets and is the author of “Sacred Gifts of a Short Life

Dog food and dog treat manufacturers can nominate their company now.  There are dozens of categories including specialty diets, kibble, raw/freeze dried raw, fresh (cooked), canned and treats. Dog-experts, dog nutritionists or veterinarians interested in becoming a judge should email their credentials.
