Utilizing Twitter, TWECRET adds a unique twist to private messaging

Available today, the app TWECRET,  arrives in the Apple App Store, for both iPhone and iPad. TWECRET is a free, fun, secure, encrypted messaging app built on top of the Twitter platform. Use Twitter for public messaging; use TWECRET for private messaging. With TWECRET, messages are encrypted using user-specified passcodes. There is no registration process (you login using your Twitter credentials), and no data is stored or even passes through TWECRET servers. Encrypted tweets go directly from sending mobile device to Twitter, and from Twitter to receiving mobile device.

No other “secret” or “private” messaging apps work like TWECRET. All other apps either “know” your encryption key, store your data on their servers, and/or they store your login credentials on their servers. TWECRET stores nothing. “Privacy, especially among those 15-30 years old, is very fragile in this age of social networking,” said company CEO Jeff Rodgers. “TWECRET was built to give users a simple, secure tool to communicate privately and stay in control of their message data at all times.”
Basic messaging in TWECRET is 100% FREE and there are no ads. It offers only two, optional, 99 cent, one-time, in-app upgrades (sending encrypted pictures and posting your messages as an encrypted Direct Message (DMs) on Twitter instead of an encrypted tweet).
