The 2021 cherry is finally here. Traverse Bay Farms Elk Rapids store has fresh cherries available for pickup. We’ve done all of the work to harvest the fresh cherries from the Northern Michigan cherry orchards, so you can enjoy them.

The 2021 cherry is finally here. Traverse Bay Farms Elk Rapids store has fresh cherries available for pickup.
This means, fresh sweet cherries are new available in our Elk Rapids location for customers in the area to enjoy. In addition to getting the fresh cherries, customer can also enjoy cherry juice concentrate, dried cherries, nationally award-winning cherry salsa and tart cherry capsules, too.
According to Andy LaPointe, Director of Marketing with Traverse Bay Farms, “Due to unforeseen weather issues for the 2021 cherry crop, this year’s crop will be limited. Now that we are into the cherry harvest, we finally have a clear idea of how the crazy and unforeseen weather conditions took a toll on the 2021 fresh cherry crops. The Northwestern region of lower Michigan grows some of the best fruit in the world including apples, berries and cherries. This year’s weather and lower cherry crop was a challenge for the fresh cherries.”
Mr. LaPointe continued, “The sweet cherries and tart cherries are harvested. Customers enjoy the sweet cherries for snacking and the Montmorency tart cherries for drinking cherry juice and cherry capsules.”
Since fresh cherries are a very perishable fruit and with this year’s limited harvest fresh cherries at the Traverse Bay Farms will be available for the next week or so.
