Times Ticking has been repairing Seiko watches since it opened in 1983, both for local Utah customers and others around the world looking for a shop willing to take on even the most complicated repairs. Along with Anime fans, Times Ticking is welcoming the company’s newest limited edition creations — the Seiko 5 Sports “Naruto & Boruto” watches — and warning that the limited inventory will go quickly.
The watch line is named after the manga and anime franchise Naruto and the spin-off sequel Boruto. It features watches that bear stylistic and symbolic elements of seven fictional characters from the two series. Only 6,500 of each of the watches were produced.
Times Ticking’s history with Seiko watches started nearly 40 years ago when it opened its retail and repair shop in Layton, Utah. The company specializes in battery replacement and repair for Seiko and other major watch and clock brands.
“If it ticks, we know it,” said Seth Thompson, whose company has become known worldwide for handling mail-in repairs, including complex watch and clock repairs that require hard-to-find parts.
The Times Ticking watch repair team said that it has been eagerly awaiting the release of the Naruto & Boruto Seiko 5 Sports line, not just because of the way the watches capture key elements of the series’ most famous characters but because of the sophisticated technology found in each watch. “These watches have a 41-hour power reserve and 10 times greater water-resistance than we have seen with past Seiko 5 Sports creations,” said Thompson.
Thompson said that fans worldwide were counting the days to the December release of the watches and that he expects the limited inventory will be snapped up quickly.
Fans will see their favorite characters reflected in many aspects of the limited edition watches. For example, the Naruto Uzumaki model will feature a dial, strap and accents in the bright orange of Naruto’s ninja outfit, and the bezel ring plate is engraved with the village symbol depicted on his forehead protector. The spiral pattern of the dial is inspired by Naruto’s ninja technique, Jutsu “Rasengan” and nine orange index points symbolize the Nine-Tiles by which Naruto was sealed during midnight position (representing his inherited pendant from the senior Hokage, Tsunade).
In addition to Naruto Uzumaki, the watches are patterned after Sasuke, Shikamaru, Lee, Gaara, Boruto and Sarada.
The Times Ticking technicians have a combined total of 120 years experience in repairing Seiko and other watches. To learn more about Times Ticking and their services, visit www.TimesTicking.com or call (801) 991-1097.
