The Turfgrass Group, located approximately one hour east of Atlanta, Georgia, in Monroe, Georgia, is pleased to announce a major accomplishment for its TifTuf® Bermudagrass variety.
TifTuf® Bermuda is the fastest warm season turfgrass to achieve the milestone of 1,000,000,000 ft.²
Since TifTuf® Bermuda went into production with just 10 acres in the spring of 2015 it has exploded into the market at an unprecedented pace and now there are 14,000 acres in production in the US. It is expanding rapidly in other countries as well with 40 growers in Australia and growers in several other countries.
TifTuf®’s superior drought tolerance and 38% lower water use than the industry standard Bermudagrass are characteristics that the marketplace finds tremendously appealing.
