The Metropolitan Masonic Concert Series (MMCS) is pleased to announce that this year’s concert will take place on 27th September 2016. The concert is part of a series of now annual classical music concerts for Metropolitan Classical music lovers and their friends, families and wives/partners.
The series is designed to provide tuneful, approachable music and to highlight younger performers. This year’s artistes are The Behn Quartet who will play string quartets by Ravel, Mozart (No. 6 in Bb KV 159), Borodin (No.2 in D major) and perhaps rather surprisingly, Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”. It is also MMCS’ custom for senior Freemasons to read favourite poems in the breaks between pieces and those performing this year include: Sir David Wootton, the Assistant Grand Master; Russell Race, Second Grand Principal; Sir Michael Snyder, Metropolitan Grand Master; Simon Duckworth, Deputy Metropolitan Grand Master; Graham Redman, Deputy Grand Secretary; Captain David Swain, Metropolitan Grand Secretary and other distinguished Freemasons.
Early bookings receive an ‘early bird’ discount and at £20 per head (a 20% discount to the full-price ticket of £25). Tickets can be purchased here – please note the Early Bird period has now been extended!
The concert will start at 19:00 and is expected to finish at around 21:00, and will include an interval during which wine, soft drinks and canapés will be served.
