The DOD’s New Home For 8570 Baseline Certifications and how it might affect your CertNexus Certification
Industry: Technology
Rochester, NY (PRUnderground) June 6th, 2019
The Defense Information Systems Agency is moving their Cyber Workforce Management Program, including approved 8570 Baseline Certifications to a new address: public.cyber.mil
The program helps government and commercial organizations to protect Department of Defense information systems and software. They are non-product specific requirements used to mitigate common security vulnerabilities, as well as implementable compendiums of Information Assurance (IA) controls, security regulations and best practices.
There is a list of approved certifications as IA baseline certifications for the IA Workforce. Personnel performing IA functions must obtain one of the certifications required for their position category or specialty and level. CertNexus’ CyberSec First Responder is included in the list of approved certifications. Users can always refer to Appendix 3 of 8570.01-M for further implementation guidance, which can be found on the new website under topics.
The information that was previously housed on the Information Assurance Support Environment (IASE) portal will no longer be updated.
