Tech City UK Selects Peak, the Cognitive Training Platform, to Join Future Fifty Programme

Tech City UK has selected Peak, the mobile cognitive training app, to join the ranks of its exclusive Future Fifty programme. Peak is one of 15 companies to be selected for 2015.

“We’re thrilled to be selected for the Future Fifty, and excited to be in the company of some of the UK’s most innovative tech companies. It’s a real honour for Peak, which we launched less than 18 months ago. We’re looking forward to the Future Fifty’s support and advice as we continue to help define the future of mental wellness apps,” says Itamar Lesuisse, co-founder and CEO of Peak.

The government-backed scheme supports the UK’s fastest growing and most disruptive technology companies as they scale. Companies are chosen by the independent Future Fifty Advisory Panel based on quantitative and qualitative criteria. Future Fifty alumni include Just Eat, Skyscanner and Zoopla.

The inclusion into the Future Fifty caps off a year of high growth for Peak, which now counts millions of players – and growing – from around the world. Peak was named one of the “Best Apps of the Year” by Apple in 2014 and was recently named one of Google Play’s Best Apps of 2015.

This year, Peak continued to innovate, launching its advanced training platform that enables scientists from leading universities around the world —  including the University of Cambridge and Yale University —  to bring their advanced cognitive games to the app. To better understand the effects of brain training on elite sport performance and head injuries, Peak embarked on a partnership with premiership rugby team, the Northampton Saints. Peak continues to expand bringing the year’s total number of cognitive skills games in the app to 30, and to develop best in class gamification features, and to deliver deep insight into the users progress and performance. In December, the company welcomed Dr. Vincent Walsh, Professor of Human Brain Research at UCL’s Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, as an advisor. Dr. Walsh specialises in human brain stimulation and plasticity and has supervised research in decision making, stress in sport, and memory among others.

Peak is currently available on iOS, Android and Kindle. For more information, please visit www.peak.net.
