Team All-American’s Travis Stanford Wins 5th Avenue Mile

Travis Stanford, Assistant Coach at Team All-American, recently won the 25-29 year-old age group in New York’s 5th Avenue Mile race.

Stanford completed the race on September 13 with a time of 4:19, a full six seconds ahead of second place in his age division. The victory marks another milestone in Stanford’s comeback to running after a successful career as a runner at the University of Oregon.

“We’re extremely proud of Travis for this awesome accomplishment,” said Scott Fishman, Founder and Head Coach of Team All-American. “Watching him cross that finish line, it was like seeing a flashback to his days as a runner at Oregon. We are fortunate to have him as a member of Team All-American.”

The 5th Avenue Mile is an annual race that takes place in Manhattan. Male and female runners of all age ranges compete together in their respective demographics, with male and female winners crowned in five-year age ranges, al the way up to 100 years old. It is a chance for runners in their first races and seasoned professionals alike to come together and race down a beautiful stretch of Manhattan’s 5th Avenue in an event organized by the New York Road Runners organization.

Stanford was hired in June 2014 by Fishman to become an assistant running coach with Team All-American. Part of his responsibility will be to create Team All-American Elite, a group of elite runners representing the organization in races across the nation. Stanford’s victory in this most recent race is a highlight of the kind of success that he can be expected to bring to the organization as he begins his career as a professional runner.

“Travis is already helping us to take our organization to the next level,” said Fishman. “His success is a great message to all of our athletes, that the Team All-American custom training programs and coaching will truly produce results and help you to achieve your goals.”

Team All-American is an organization devoted to helping runners worldwide achieve their goals, whether it be their first mile, their first marathon or a personal record time. Using the Team All-American methodology, runners will be able to reach their goals through a carefully planned and detailed process that considers all aspects of their health and lifestyle.
