Stephen shares his successes as an entrepreneur

As the CEO and founder of YBY industries, Stephen Odzer has acquired over 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur, particularly in the distribution industry. He is also actively involved in the community, often reaching out to aspiring entrepreneurs, as well as small business owners looking to gain precious insights and get valuable advice from an industry mogul who started from the ground floor. Recently, Mr. Stephen Odzer opened up about some of his most significant personal achievements and career highlights.
The Brooklyn NY native showcased an entrepreneurial mindset early on. When he was only 18, he was already running his first door-to-door paper sales company. This was the start to a series of successful endeavors in his early professional years, culminating in being named “Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year” in the pivotal year 2000.
Mr. Stephen Odzer still treasures his close connections and family. He values his father’s lessons especially, and he still credits the latter’s advice for his interest in forming new connections and building a strong professional and personal network. Besides cultivating positive relationships with major partners and local organizations, he also looks up to foremost industry leaders such as Barry Halper, whom he credits as an influence, along with individuals such as banker Edmond Safra.
Understanding people and their intentions remain a key factor for Mr. Odzer: he recognized that some of the main struggles he faced throughout his career stemmed from ill-intentioned people, and he also stated that with the right mindset, nothing is impossible. Instead of giving in to hardships and despair, he flipped the coin and looked at the positive side. As a result, the successful entrepreneur was able to leap over bumps in the road. “Do the work, stay optimistic, be relentless.”
With such an inspiring personal mantra, Mr. Odzer’s message is easy to relate to and incredibly eye-opening. Besides working in the supplies/distribution industry, Stephen Odzer is now fulfilling a big personal dream. As a life-long hockey aficionado, he seized the opportunity to strike a partnership with the Vegas Golden Knights NHL team for the naming rights of their new areas in Henderson, NV.
