Socorro’s New Mexico Tech Busy with New Construction Projects says Construction Reporter

New Mexico Tech in Socorro just received $15 million from General Obligation Bond C to be used to build a new Chemistry Building, the latest in a series of new projects.

New Mexico Tech in Socorro, New Mexico has several new construction projects underway, thanks to passage of the statewide $139 million General Obligation Bond C. Of that total $15 million was allocated to NM Tech for construction of a chemistry building next year.
This is one of many recent renovation and building projects on the campus, as the school enters a new era of growth in its 125 year history.
Prjects include the completed 2014 renovation of Hall Dormitory with the addition of 50 new beds and utility upgrades. The new Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources building is near completion. The cost of construction for the 85,000 square foot building will be $18 million, derived from 2012 General Obligation Bonds. This will be a LEED certified structure.
