Smoking Can Blow Up Chances of Dating Millionaires According to MillionaireMatch’s Recent Survey

Figures from a recent survey of more than 2,864,400 members of a popular millionaire dating site, MillionaireMatch, has revealed that the habit of smoking is a major consideration when choosing a partner. And not many are digging the prospects of a partner who enjoys a puff.

The many health hazards of smoking are common knowledge. In the recent past, the habit of smoking has become somewhat of a social taboo, thanks to a growing consciousness about healthy and clean living. For those who haven’t felt the motivation to kick the butt even in the face of mounting health risks, here is another good reason to make amends now – the habit can slim down your chances of finding a potentially affluent match, since a majority of millionaires out there are not digging the idea of dating someone who smokes.

According to the data gathered through a survey of more than 2,864,400 members of online dating site MillionaireMatch.com, 93.05 percent of the total certified male millionaire members said that they did not smoke, 2.76 percent said they smoked socially, 0.50 percent smoked regularly while 0.75 percent were trying to quit. Only a mere 2.51 percent fit in ‘please ask me’ category. In their responses, a total of 61.22 percent of respondents said they would prefer to date someone who did not smoke, 11.89 percent said social smokers were acceptable to them, only 0.46 percent were open to partners who smoked regularly, and 9.46 percent were okay with potential partners who were trying to quit. The respondents had the liberty of choosing multiple options for their match preferences.

Similarly, in case of female members, 91.81 percent members said that they didn’t smoke, 2.32 percent said they smoke socially, 0.95 percent were regular smokers, 1.91 were trying to quit and 2.7 percent in the ‘please ask me’ category. Speaking about the traits of their potential matches, 74.08 percent of the respondents preferred partners who didn’t smoke, 8.19 percent were open to social smokers, 0.95 percent were comfortable with dating regular smokers, and 5.32 percent were open to dating people trying to quit.
