Sleep startup Slumbr launches to help people find the best pillow for a better night’s rest

Slumbr, a new company focused on sleep wellness, officially launched today with the mission of helping customers improve the quality of their sleep. As part of its initial Pillow Menu offering, Slumbr unveiled its Pillow Quiz, which is designed to make it simple for people to find the most comfortable pillow for their sleep style.

The National Sleep Foundation reports that 91% of American adults consider a comfortable pillow important to a good night’s sleep, yet over 70% say it’s very difficult to find that comfortable pillow, according to a consumer study conducted by Slumbr.

While several new companies have emerged to disrupt the mattress and bedding industries, only Slumbr is directly addressing the pillow as a focal point of the bedtime experience. With its Pillow Menu, Slumbr has introduced a line of high-quality, carefully selected and tested pillows designed to meet the needs of different sleep types. Slumbr also plans to use learnings from its consumer research to expand its offerings to other sleep-related products in the future.

“Despite the fact that nearly everyone buys and uses a pillow, the shopping experience for pillows is outdated and confusing. Pillow sections in stores have a sea of products with little helpful information,” said Michelle Fishberg, co-founder and CEO. “Our research indicates that no one pillow is perfect for everyone. There’s an opportunity to make finding a pillow personal to your sleep type much easier and engaging, as well as educate people on how the proper pillow can improve their sleep.”

Co-founders Michelle Fishberg and Heather Rebuelta evaluated over 250 pillows and conducted consumer testing to design a Pillow Menu of six premium pillows that deliver superior comfort and quality. The site features tools to guide people through the pillow-shopping process, including a comparison chart, videos, pillow guide and of course, the Pillow Quiz.
