Singer/Songwriter Meg Pfeiffer Responds to Tragedy Releasing Cover of Taylor Swift’s “New Year’s Day”

This has not been an easy year for German singer/songwriter and Sony Music/Columbia Recording Artist Meg Pfeiffer, best known for her 2010 album “Bullrider”, which she released while living in the United States for an extended stay, that lasted half a decade, before returning home. In just a little over a month before Christmas 2018 Pfeiffer experienced a serious of deep personal losses including her father, who she was very close to passing away due to cancer, along with two other family members. On top of this her faithful companion, her pet dog, also died. Responding in a way where she could to process some of this pain through her art, the singer/songwriter recently recorded a remarkable cover version of Taylor Swift’s “New Year’s Day (Reputation)” featuring Pfeiffer both singing (in perfect English) and masterfully playing the piano. Backing up the recording is a professional video release of her cover of “New Year’s Day” on YouTube and across other video platforms. Music fans are sure to appreciate how much of herself she has poured into the song.

“Losing my beloved father just before Christmas this year was truly devastating for me, we meant so much to each other,” commented Pfeiffer on her new release. “Combine this with the other losses and I have been able to clearly see who my true friends are and aren’t, who was there for me and not. I piked ‘New Year’s Day’ to cover to send a sign and set a signal to both the universe and anyone listening who has experienced similar loss that 2019 is a new year for us, the beginning of a fresh period of our lives, and it may seem frightening but we can make it something very special. I know my father wanted me to continue pursuing music and that’s exactly what I am going to do.”

Pfeiffer lives in Germany with her partner, lover, and best friend Luca Stricagnoli, who is world famous for his fingerstyle cover of the AC/DC song “Thunderstruck” which has had over 50 million views on social media.

Both Pfeiffer and Stricagnoli have toured the globe playing to passionate fans in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, China, Russia, Israel, Estonia, Latvia, the United Arab Emirates, Poland, and Luxemburg, with a tour planned to begin soon which will include Portugal and Australia.

In 2019 also expect more studio work from the re-energized star.
