Simply Solar Scholarships Slated to Help Fund the Future of Renewable Energy

Simply Solar announces their partnership with the Petaluma Educational Foundation to help Bay Area students study sustainability.

Hoping to improve the future of sustainable energy, the Bay Area’s leading residential solar power company announces its Educational Impact Scholarships. To that end, Simply Solar has linked arms with the Petaluma Educational Foundation (PEF) to provide three $1000 scholarships to local students who show an interest in STEM. Participating students who will benefit from the generous donation will study Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math at the collegiate level. The scholarship winners will be announced in February.
“We are very excited that our company will support local Petaluma students by aiding their higher education goals,” says Sean Green, CTO at Simply Solar. “Our future growth on the local and national levels is in the hands of our youth. Renewable energy is a part of that future. Creating opportunities for our students in this area only makes sense and is completely in line with our mission to educate the Bay Area on solar and renewable energy.”
Each Educational Impact Scholarship applicant was required to write an essay entitled, “How Renewable Energy Resources Will Shape Our Future.” To discuss the pressing need for greater awareness, Simply Solar sat down with Maureen Highland from PEF to discuss the non-profit’s efforts in education and sustainability as a whole.
