Broster Productions opened its doors in April 2017 to produce its first show, Sibs Comedy Web Series, a YouTube comedy series, about the vlogging misadventures of two maladjusted, overly quirky siblings living in Los Angeles. Closing season one of the series with thirteen episodes and 25,000 views on the Sibs YouTube channel, the real-life brother-sister duo, Kimberly Niccole and Bryan Scamman launched the show on the independent series hub Stareable to further the show’s visibility and take part in Stareable’s July contest, pledging $2,000 in crowdfunding money to the series with the most unique views for the month.
Currently boasting over 3,000 web series, Stareable positions itself as a central hub for internet content creators. The July crowdfunding contest run by Stareable supports its mission to help small and indie projects, like Sibs, achieve discoverability and build awareness through its platform.
Officially, the competition will end July 31st, and Sibs Comedy Web Series continues its campaign to win $2,000 in funding to jumpstart its new season.
“Stareable has been, and continues to become, an incredible place to network with content creators and gain traction. We’re looking to win this competition, but the calibre of shows here is great to be a part of,” said Co-Creator Scamman. “Our show has been called ‘Absolutely Bonkers Fun,’ and we’re excited to continue delivering on that.”
Closing July 27th with 15,000+ views on Stareable, Sibs YouTube comedy is in the company of some top performing shows, including, Fauk My Life (Independent), Royally (YouTube), Classic Alice (YouTube), Sisterhood (YouTube), Out of It (YouTube), Seek Help (YouTube), Adam and Eve (Amazon), The So So You Don’t Know (Vimeo), The Uncanny Upshurs (YouTube), The Pantheon (YouTube), #WhoKilledHeather (YouTube), and many more.
“As first-time series creators, this contest win would be an amazing boost for Sibs as we enter our second season,” said Sibs Co-Creator and Executive Producer, Niccole. “We’re going to continue to campaign to win so we can get moving with our ridiculous, crazy comedy world, and we greatly appreciate the support that people are showing us in our adventure!”
In the spirit of contests, the Sibs team has launched a special contest on its website, “Support Indies”. The giveaway/contest (which is not associated with Stareable, or its members) allows Sibs fans, and its Stareable visitors to enter to win $50 in Amazon and iTunes gift cards for supporting independents.
Sibs creators look forward to continuing to campaign in this current contest and congratulates the other series’ creators on the platform who are taking creative risks and making independent projects a reality.
