Siamak Afshar selected as Top Program Director of the Year by IAOTP

Siamak Afshar, CEO of Transforming Life Center Inc. was recently selected as Top Program Director of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for his outstanding leadership, philosophy, dedication and commitment to the industry.

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. With close to 35 years of professional experience as a mental health/chemical dependecy counselor. Siamak has certainly proven himself as an accomplished professional and expert in the field. He is a dynamic, results-driven leader, who has demonstrated success in every role he has ever served and has been able to produce 93% success rate with patients coming in the Transforming Life Center in Orange County. Currently, Siamak is the CEO and Founder/Owner of Transforming Life Center in Yorba Linda, California.

His impressive repertoire of prior roles includes his role as the Founder and former President of IRC, a non-profit organization which offers services free of charge to addicts/alcoholics and their families in need. He was the program director for New Life Treatment Center and Optimist Youth Homes and Family Services. Siamak has worked in the field of addiction at schools, county and private hospitals and outpatient and in-patient facilities since 1987 and in private practice since 1998.

Siamak’s areas of expertise include program management, counseling, treatment, interventions, addiction, codependency, recovery, chemical dependency, coaching, psychotherapy, behavioral health, case management, family therapy, clinical supervision, mentoring, curriculum development, event planning, drug testing, business transformation, co-dependency, marketing strategy, group therapy, public speaking, social services, fundraising, anger management, problem solving, staff development, community outreach, adult and adolescent mental healthcare.

Before Siamak chose his current career path, he attended California State University, Dominguez Hills and obtained his drug and alcohol studies certification in 1988. Following his path of sobriety, Siamak earned his BA in Clinical Psychology from Union University and his CADCII, becoming a Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor by the State of California.

In addition to his successful career, Siamak is an active member of his community and shares his expertise through volunteer work. Moreover, he is a host of numerous radio and international weekly TV shows addressing the disease of addiction, its recovering process and interviews with recovering addicts/alcoholics, gamblers and over eaters as well as reputable professionals within the industry. Also, Siamak writes weekly for an international magazine called Javanan, providing awareness of the fatal disease of addiction and how codependency relates to addiction. Furthermore, he hosts donation events to help patients receive funding and attain the additional care they need while recovering.

Throughout his illustrious career, Siamak has received awards, accolades and been recognized worldwide for his outstanding leadership and commitment to the addiction field. This year he will be considered for a feature article in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine and will also be considered for the Business Innovator of the Year Award given by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). Siamak will receive his Top Program Director of the Year Award on stage at IAOTP’s 2021 Annual Awards Gala being held at the magnificent Plaza Hotel in NYC.

Looking back, Siamak attributes his success to his perseverance, his education and extensive training, and most importantly his unique leadership abilities and his own sobriety since 1/16/83. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his friends and family, traveling and Siamak is an avid marathon runner which he plans to continue for the rest of his life. For the future, Siamak believes that recovery is a real possibility from any addiction even nicotine, and that’s why the Transforming Life Center is the only Nicotine Free Facility, treating addiction.
