Within the framework of the project, SHE is SCIENCE, the charitable educational initiative STEM is FEM held an all-Ukrainian competition among Ukrainian girls. The creative task was to write their reflections on how the scientific activities of one of the 12 proposed female scientists have influenced science and the world in general and to describe their own impressions of the chosen heroine.
‘In total, we have received 561 essays from all over Ukraine, and even from abroad. The essays were carefully and impartially checked by an experienced jury, including well-known journalists, editors, bloggers, biologists, and psychologists,’ said the initiator of the project, GenIT founder Sergey Tokarev.
The awarding of the finalists and announcing the Grand Prix winner who will receive $4,000 for education will take place in early June during a charity auction. NFT paintings will be sold at the auction and the raised funds will be added to the main amount of the Grand Prix.
After the auction, the printed versions of the portraits will travel throughout Ukraine. The traveling exhibition can be rented free of charge from the organizers and placed in any educational institution of the country. All transportation costs are also covered by the organizers. The portraits will accompany the essays that won the competition.
