BIG NAMES ARE COMING: The Sacramento Speakers Series presents six evenings of topical insights from top figures.

The season kicks off on September 29 with one of the most influential people in the food world, journalist Michael Pollan, who for 25 years has written about the place where nature and culture intersect: on our plates. He has been called one of the top 10 “new thought leaders.”
On October 20, the Series welcomes popular scientist and futurist Dr. Michio Kaku. A respected theoretical physicist, Dr. Kaku has the ability to make complex scientific ideas both understandable and fascinating.
The Series presents Jane Pauley, television anchor and journalist, on November 17. Best known for her tenure on NBC, last year Pauley struck a nerve with her book Your Life Calling: Reimagining the Rest of Your Life, stories of people reinventing their lives to do work they love.
Heading into an election year, on January 19, 2016, retired four star General and NATO commander Wesley Clark, a one-time candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination will provide his insights on hotspots around the globe and on presidential politics.
Malcolm Gladwell, master storyteller and one of TIME’s 100 most influential people, is here on February 16, 2016. His books reveal the secret patterns behind every day phenomena, such as how ideas spread (The Tipping Point), the roots of success (Outliers), and his latest, David and Goliath, on the advantages of disadvantages.
The Series ends on April 5, 2016, when Navy pilot and astronaut Mark Kelly and his wife, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords tell how optimism, an adventurous spirit, and a call to service can help change the world. Together they embody the healing power of love and courage.
