Rizz to Perform at Shaw Middle School’s Kindness Week with Inspiring Kindness Concert

Shaw Middle School, part of the Washoe County School District, is gearing up for a week of positivity, connection, and community as they celebrate their first ever Kindness Week. This school-wide weeklong event takes place on Tuesday, February 11th, with a special Kindness Concert featuring Rizz, the founder of the Make Em’ Smile Foundation and frontman of the reggae-rock band Rizz & The Believerz in collaboration with Forever 14.
The Kindness Concert is a 30-minute high-energy set designed to uplift the spirits of the entire school. All 750 students will gather in the gym to celebrate the power of kindness, gratitude, and positivity. Rizz will share his inspiring message of “Don’t Stop Tryin’”—encouraging students to find their passion and purpose through what they love. The performance will feature music, engaging activities, and a dose of fun to leave the students energized and inspired.
“Kindness is a superpower,” says Rizz. “It’s not just about how we treat others, but also how we take care of ourselves so we can keep showing up and making a difference.”
Throughout the week leading up to the concert, Shaw Middle School students will participate in daily kindness-focused activities, including gratitude challenges, random acts of kindness, and opportunities to reflect on how they can positively impact their peers, school, and community. The Kindness Week initiative aims to foster a stronger, more compassionate school culture.
