Rene’ Murata selected as Top Executive of the Decade by IAOTP

Rene’ Murata, Owner of CEO Essence and Owner & CEO of Risk Integrity Safety Knowledge, Inc. dba (RISK Inc.), was recently selected as the Top Executive of the Decade by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only 1 Female Executive is selected for this distinction. Rene’ is being awarded for having over a decade of experience as a Process Safety Consultant who provides visionary leadership in the highly competitive Gas, Oil, Chemical and Petrochemical consulting industries and for demonstrating female empowerment as a successful entrepreneur in a male dominated field. Before Rene’ embarked on her current career paths, she earned her BA in Applied Physics and a BS in Applied Mathematics from Southern Oregon University. Rene’ rounded her studies with a Master of Business in Global Enterprise Management from Jones International University.

Rene’ began working as an Assistant Engineer for an electrical firm in their Research and Development Department where her tasks involved developing internal policies and procedures for environmental safety. Several years later, she relocated to California with her husband and took a position as an Administrative Assistant working in a refinery before being promoted to Engineering Assistant turned Assistant Engineer. It was during that time that she became educated on Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP) requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Shortly after starting her career as a Process Safety Consultant in the gas, oil, chemical, and petrochemical industries, Rene’ left the company with which she was working and started her own company.  She serves as Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Risk Integrity Safety Knowledge, Inc. and has opened two offices in Spring, Texas and Santa Cruz, California and operates worldwide.

The industries in which RISK works have the potential to have serious, life threatening incidents. It is because of Rene’s strong belief that everyone can and should go home to their loved ones that she has worked to create a company that embodies RISK’s mission statement,

While growing her business, she found that the leadership that she had learned and witnessed, versus the leadership with which she wanted to lead were two very different styles.  She started looking for examples of, or materials about the style that she envisioned for her company; a style that embraced compassion and empowerment.  Not able to find any information, she began shifting and expanding her leadership, utilizing non-traditional techniques such as Law of Attraction, Reiki and Breathwork until she had  created a new model of leadership.

Rene’s experiences within RISK, Inc., of creating a leadership style that felt good, led her to start another business venture, CEO Essence. With CEO Essence, she started coaching women in leadership.  Her goal is to help women to recognize and value their differences from men in how they approach life and then apply those differences within their working life in a manner that is honoring, compassionate and powerful. Recognizing that many women have not been equipped with leadership skills, she has developed a program that assists in releasing the trauma that holds women back, while giving them the tools to shine individually and within a team as well as gain the confidence to then lead the team.  This program incorporates a variety of techniques from her Law of Attraction, Light Body and Breathwork practices, as well as more traditional leadership skills, such as delegation, building strategies and decision making to facilitate every woman’s journey to leadership.

Throughout Rene’s entire career, she has been recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership and commitment to those she serves.  In 2015 she was selected as Outstanding Professional of the Year with Oxford Who’s Who.  In 2016 she was featured in Women of Distinction Magazine and for 2017 selected as Top Executive of the Year in Risk Management and for 2018 named Top Female Executive by the International Association of Top Professionals.  For 2019 named Woman of the Year. She was also recognized as one of America’s Most Influential Women and she was named as a leader in Business from Who’s Who. Rene’ is an active member of Center for Chemical Process Safety and American Institute of Chemical Engineers and she participates annually in several events to support her industry and community. She is also a member of ALLY, formerly named Pink Petro, an organization striving to support women in the Gas, Oil, Chemical and Petro-Chemical industries.

Looking back, Rene’ attributes her success to her perseverance, her unique experiences and her determination to make a positive difference in the lives of others. When not working, Rene’ enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and networking with business professionals. In the future, Rene’ plans to continue assisting women wishing to step into leadership and helping companies who choose to keep safety at the workplace a top priority.
