People with addictions are often surrounded by loved ones who want to help but simply don’t know how. To provide families with the tools they need to support their loved ones in need, an all-male, faith-based rehabilitation center in the Salt Lake City area is offering free access to its new podcast series on addiction recovery.
Renaissance Ranch was given Utah’s “Best of State” award for its faith-based, residential detox program based on the 12-Step recovery process. Since 2001, the Ranch has been providing inpatient and outpatient treatment, both in-person and online, including trauma-informed therapy and lifetime alumni and aftercare. It stands as a testament to how addiction recovery needs to be a whole-family process. Tyson Dixon, CEO at Renaissance, and Preston Dixon, COO, were both addicted to drugs before they turned their lives around and bought Renaissance Ranch along with their parents. Today, the Dixon family works together to extend hope and healing to individuals and their family members who are likewise on the recovery journey.
The new podcast series “helps families learn what to do when they don’t know what to do,” said Preston, who has been alongside his brother in recovery since 2006. It features the perspectives of those who have struggled with addiction, family members, and clinicians. “This show is raw and vulnerable and was created to give insight and hope that recovery is real,” he said.
Episodes include 12-Step solutions for families by families who are currently in recovery from addiction and codependency. “Long-term sobriety hinges on family members understanding recovery principles,” said Preston, and in this series, the family members who have lived through the process are the real ‘experts.’
The show’s moderators are Rick and Christine Dixon, Family Program Directors at Renaissance, and Tyson and Preston’s parents. Not only do the Dixons have personal experience as parents of recovering addicts, but they also served for 14 years with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as missionaries for the church’s 12-Step Addiction Recovery Program. The Ranch releases podcasts about one to two times a month and most recently aired Episodes 4 and 5. Past episodes can be viewed on their addiction treatment center website.

About Renaissance Ranch Treatment Centers
Renaissance Ranch is a Utah rehab center that uses a faith-based addiction recovery program by combining the traditional 12-Step approach to treatment combined with Gospel principles as they relate to alcohol and drug addiction. They are owned and operated by individuals who have been through the challenging road to recovery, but who have been made more whole and stronger by that very journey. Renaissance Ranch takes those who are at their lowest point and bring them into a program that gives them hope and a blueprint of how to grow and achieve their best selves.
