Psychological Stress Can Trigger a Shingles Outbreak; CBCD Reviews the Medical Literature
Industry: Health & Fitness
According to research, stress and stressful life events can cause outbreaks of herpes zoster. (1) The CBCD recommends two natural shingles remedies.

“Are you infected with herpes zoster (VZV)? We recommend taking Gene-Eden-VIR or Novirin.” – Greg Bennett, CBCD
Psychological stress can cause a Herpes Zoster (HZ) outbreak (also known as a shingles outbreak). Herpes Zoster, a condition caused by the Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV), can reactivate following periods of intense physical or psychological stress, resulting in a case of shingles. (1) Dr. Randy Sansone and colleagues wrote that “stress, stressful life events, and depressive symptoms are identified antecedents to outbreaks of herpes zoster.” (1) Dr. Sansone is a professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Internal Medicine at Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Sansone continued, writing that the development of postherpetic neuralgia has been associated with the psychological distress. Moreover, according to a review article mentioned in Dr. Sansone’s study, “the role of psychosocial stress in the development of HZ has been well documented.” (1) The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) therefore recommends that individuals infected with VZV take Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR. The formula of these natural VZV remedies was designed to help the immune system target the latent Varicella Zoster Virus.

VZV is the same virus that causes Chickenpox. Shingles is caused by a reactivation of a latent VZV infection. The CBCD therefore recommends that people who have had chickenpox in the past take Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR.
The formula of these natural antiviral products was tested by Hanan Polansky and Edan Itzkovitz from the CBCD in two clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines. The studies showed that the Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin formula is effective against the herpes simplex virus, and other viruses. The clinical studies were published in the peer reviewed, medical journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy, the first, in a special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs. Study authors wrote that, “individuals infected with the (VZV) … reported a safe decrease in their symptoms following treatment with Gene-Eden-VIR.” (2) The study authors also wrote that, “we observed a statistically significant decrease in the severity, duration, and frequency of symptoms.” (2)
Both products can be ordered online on the Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin websites.
Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are natural antiviral dietary supplements. Their formula contains five natural ingredients: Selenium, Camellia Sinesis Extract, Quercetin, Cinnamomum Extract, and Licorice Extract. The first ingredient is a trace element, and the other four are plant extracts. Each ingredient and its dose was chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists at polyDNA, the company that invented and patented the formula, scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals, and identified the safest and most effective natural ingredients against latent viruses. To date, Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are the only natural antiviral products on the market with published clinical studies that support their claims.
“In a 1990 study from the United States, Schmader et al compared stressful life events and the status of spousal relationships between 101 individuals with HZ and 101 healthy controls. In this study, participants with HZ were significantly more likely than controls to report negative life events approximately two months before the onset of symptoms.” (1)
Finally, Dr. Sansone wrote that “The extant literature is fairly consistent in concluding that stress, stressful life events, and depressive symptoms may partially contribute to outbreaks of HZ.” (1)
The CBCD therefore recommends that individuals take Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR, which were designed to help the immune system target, and reduce the numbers of latent VZV in the body.

About CBCD
The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (https://www.cbcd.net) is a not-for-profit tax-exempt organization under section 501(c) 3 of the IRS tax code. The center’s mission is to advance the research on the biology of chronic disease and to accelerate the discovery of a cure for these diseases. The CBCD first published Dr. Hanan Polansky’s highly acclaimed “Purple” book, entitled “Microcompetition with Foreign DNA and the Origin of Chronic Disease” in 2003. In this book, he explains how foreign DNA fragments can cause many major diseases. The book has been read by more than 5,000 scientists around the world, and has been reviewed in more than 20 leading scientific journals. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
