Priynse Enterprise Advocates for Wider Acceptance of Section 8 Voucher Programs

Industry: Real Estate

Growing real estate firms showcase an often neglected area for home purchases, rentals, and sales.

Shenandoah, PA (PRUnderground) October 24th, 2023

Gorbachyou Weekes, the CEO of Priynse Enterprise, a real estate company on the rise, is on a mission to enhance the availability of affordable housing through Section 8 voucher programs. In a region where such initiatives are in high demand, Weekes is taking a bold step to address this need.

Priynse Enterprise is known for its commitment to empowering real estate owners and facilitating transactions in buying, selling, and renting homes. A unique aspect of the company is its enthusiastic acceptance of voucher programs, particularly Section 8, which supports low-income families, individuals, older adults, and disabled individuals. Weekes himself has experienced the impact of these programs and is now advocating for fellow real estate owners to follow suit.

Weekes firmly believes that “opportunity lies where open minds explore,” and he is determined to impact communities significantly, one voucher at a time. His vision is to reduce applicant backlogs and support those in need of rental housing assistance.

“We dedicate one-third of our portfolio to voucher programs,” Weekes proudly commented, highlighting his commitment to this cause. His approach is not merely driven by financial gain but also by the desire to give back to the community. He emphasizes that it’s not just about the money but the positive impact one can make with their resources.

With properties in various Pennsylvania areas, including Shenandoah, Pottsville, Frackville, and Shamokin, Weekes estimates that the portion of his real estate portfolio consists of homes tailored to Section 8 tenants will continue to grow. He acknowledges the scarcity of landlords willing to accept Section 8 tenants, especially in areas where market rent rates are high, but through education, this dynamic can and will change.

Weekes has proven that accepting Section 8 tenants is a win-win situation. He emphasizes the importance of maintaining good relationships with tenants and neighbors, dispelling concerns about tenant quality. The real challenge, he insists, is the lack of landlords participating in the program.

Thomas F. Hale, executive director of the Schuylkill County Housing Authority, echoes Weekes’ sentiment, stating, “There is not enough housing available in the county for the number of low-income people looking for affordable housing.”

Gorbachyou Weekes is not limiting his advocacy to his region alone. He is open to speaking engagements, interviews, and features to discuss the importance of Section 8 acceptance in the broader real estate context. Additionally, Priynse Enterprise offers referral fees to those who connect with tired landlords interested in supporting voucher programs.

Weekes is currently renovating a three-bedroom unit in Shenandoah with the aim of making it available for rent by the end of October. His dedication to helping people find a place to call home and his vision for reducing the backlog of Section 8 applicants drive his efforts.
