Monmouth Junction, New Jersey (PRUnderground) September 28th, 2018
James Boozan, Director of Community Outreach for Princeton Detox & Recovery Center and the Guardian Recovery Network recently attended the 6th Annual Recovery Advocates of America Recovery Walk to support addiction treatment and recovery.
Princeton Detox & Recovery Center, which is slated to open in January 2019, will serve as the Tri-State Area’s leading addiction treatment detox center. The center’s mission is to leverage expert addiction specialists to emphasize the important role individualized care plays in supporting sustained recovery.
Recovery Advocates of America is a 501c3 not for profit peer to peer center that promotes education around the disease of addiction, offers tools to sustain recovery through engagement, and strives to reduce the stigma of addiction within the greater community. The Recovery Walk event raised a total of $83,775.82 this year.
James Boozan stated “I am very excited for the opening of the Princeton Detox & Recovery Center, as additional options for treatment in the metro area are needed tremendously. Although we have witnessed progress in systems and addiction treatment services, there is still a huge opiate epidemic in our country and more specifically our state. Bringing Princeton Detox & Recovery Center and the power of its trusted partner, the Guardian Recovery Network, to the Middlesex/Mercer County area may only be one small step, but a much needed one”.
The opening of Princeton Detox & Recovery Center comes as the opioid epidemic in New Jersey continues to intensify. At least 1,900 people in the State died last year as a result of overdose, which mirrors the grim death statistics in other States Nationwide. Access to comprehensive treatment and aftercare services is a crucial tool in fighting the crisis.
