Planet Technology USA Releases Media Converter Decision Tree Tool

Planet Technology USA (PLANET), a division of Versa Technology, supplying cost-effective last-mile PoE networking solutions, announces the release of its on-website decision tree tool to assist customers in quickly finding and purchasing the right media converter for their network.

The PLANET decision tree takes the customer through PLANET’s vast range of media converter products quickly, helping researchers narrow to the desired media converter, while eliminating other powered devices that are not compatible with specific product searches and implementations. Media converters come in four main compatibility categories:

• Passive Optical Network (PON)
• Standard Media Converters
• Managed Media Converters
• Industrial Media Converters

“The new decision tree feature will allow customers to easily search for products whenever it aligns with their schedules, while not having to rely on product analysts for help,” says Joe Williams, Director of Distributed Sales. “PLANET feels the addition of this time-saving feature will give IT decision makers the confidence they need to choose the right media converter any time they need one.”

PLANET offers 100 different media converters from Megabit to Gigabit; Multi-Mode to Single-Mode Fiber and Single-Mode Fiber WDM; Fiber-to-Fiber based on the type of connector—BNC/RJ11, FC, LC, RJ45, SC and ST, and even an additional feature called Power Boost (12V ~ 48V DC). Customers will now find the process of searching for a media converter much easier.
