Pangaea Services, Inc. today announces that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued US Patent 9,002,317 covering a method and apparatus for active defense and emergency response also known as The Defender 24/7, a pepper-spray device that takes a picture on the attacker, alerts authorities, and bluetooth connected with 24/7 monitoring.
The Defender 24/7 provides a complete defense solution by combining defense, alert, identification, and response features. The Defender 24/7 utilizes pepper spray as a defense feature and has a built-in camera with auto cloud-upload capabilities, as well automatic alerts to local law enforcement in the event of an attack.
Existing self-defense solutions require consumers to make trade-offs on the features that they believe are the most important. Beyond lethal vs. non-lethal personal protection, consumers are presented with “single action” solutions. One of the causes of trade-offs is human limitation during a traumatic event: individuals experience a personal safety threat experience fight or flight instincts. By eliminating these self-defense trade-offs with automation, Defender 24/7 allows individuals to initiate the self-defense sequence with a single action that results in multiple angles of protection.
In addition to the patent, Pangaea Services has also received a trademark for 24/7 brand and “EveryWhere Security”. Pangaea Services hopes to give consumers the opportunity to feel as safe anywhere as they do behind their own home security, hence “EveryWhere Security”, and by doing so pioneer The Defender 24/7 as a standard by which security devices are held.
