Ozmo launches hydration tracker widget on Garmin® Connect IQ Store

Ozmo (www.ozmo.io), the first project launched by Groking Lab, announced the addition of a new widget to the Garmin Connect IQ^TM Store. The Ozmo Connect IQ App allows users to easily view their hydration goal and progress from their compatible Garmin device. Connect IQ, an open developer platform for third-parties to create experiences for compatible Garmin wearables, bike computers and outdoor handhelds, lets users customize their Garmin device to reflect their unique personalities and needs.

The app is the latest to join the Ozmo Smart Hydration Platform. Consisting of the Ozmo Smart Bottle, Ozmo Water App, and supported fitness trackers, the Ozmo Smart Hydration Platform is a system that recommends and tracks customized daily water and coffee intake to users for well-balanced drinking.

Ozmo Smart Bottles incorporate sensors that accurately measure liquid levels and relays information to connected apps. Features include vibrations and LED light patterns that alert the users if they have not been drinking water for an hour, as well as helping the users keep track of their progress towards their hydration goal. Since its start in 2015, Ozmo has taken place as a leading seller in the smart bottle industry in North America with a notable presence in Australia, Hong Kong, and the United Kingdom.

Users benefit from instant post-workout feedback from the new Ozmo App on Connect IQ. Hydration needs are dependent on many factors, including activity level, and the Connect IQ platform enables Ozmo users to receive instant updates without having to open the app on his or her smartphone. Once the user saves an activity on a Garmin device, Ozmo sends advice on how much water to drink to rehydrate. Users will also have the ability to manually log water consumption directly from their Garmin wearable without the use of the smartphone. The instant sync of hydration data, enabled by the new widget, makes it easier to view hydration efforts, motivating and encouraging users more than ever before.

Meanwhile, Ozmo Water App, available on Google Play and App Store, recommends personalized hydration and coffee consumption goals based on the user’s body, activity level, location, and other factors. The app receives data from Ozmo Smart Bottles as well as read manual logging to offer an intuitive and insightful report of beverage consumption data. With a barcode scanning feature, the app also helps track nutritional information such as calorie and sugar intake from beverages.

The new and updated Ozmo Smart Hydration Platform takes full advantage of Garmin Connect IQ, with continuous hydration progress updates on watch faces and increased customization for those of an active lifestyle. Ozmo Connect IQ App is available at apps.garmin.com as well as in the device tab of Garmin Connect.
