Erica Carlson is a former language arts teacher turned performing author who specializes in children’s books based on her magic shows featuring her live magical hedgehog, Sedgie the Hedgie. Her Adventures of Sedgie the Hedgie book series includes ”Sedgie the Hedgie Finds the Treasure” and ”Sedgie the Hedgie Solves the Case.” Like Sedgie, Erica is a balloon sculptor with twenty-five years of experience. After graduating with a Master of Education degree in Integrated Language Arts from The Ohio State University in 2008, Erica taught full-time to students both with and without disabilities for several years. Erica enjoys bike riding with her family, running with friends, and reading on her porch. She lives in Columbus, Ohio, with her supportive husband, three curious children, and adorable pets: Sedgie the Hedgie, Clover the Pup, and Picasso the Turtle.
