Christopher Ford, Co-Founder of Stitches ‘n Dishes announced that the mobile food pioneer has released never-before-seen video footage of the making of the World’s Largest Commercially Available Hamburger. In July, news of the record-breaking event spread virally across the globe, trending on Twitter, Google, Yahoo and other newsfeeds and media.
Ovations FanFare hired Stitches ‘n Dishes to document the attempt to cook the World’s Largest Commercially Available Hamburger in photos and film for submission to the Guinness Book of Records in July, 2011 at the Alameda County Fair.
Nick Nicora, Co-Owner of Ovations Food Services was awarded Venues Today’s coveted Hall of Headlines Award in Concessions for his outstanding achievements in cooking jumbo burger, weighing in at 777 lbs in July.
Venues Today, the leading international trade publication covering the business side of entertainment and sports, particularly as it relates to venues, awards its most prestigious honor, the Hall of Headline Award every December. The award is given to members in four different categories – News, Bookings, Marketing and Concessions; individuals who have made a difference in the facilities industry.
“When I first heard that I was chosen for this award, my thoughts were looking back on past awards and I’m humbled to be ranked with winners such as Ken Young, President at Ovations Food Services and Norb Bartosik, President / CEO at California State Fair,” said Nicora. “Stitches ‘n Dishes held their video footage until Guinness recognized the achievement, but now they’re free to share it with everyone.”
Christopher Ford, Co-Founder of Stitches ‘n Dishes said, “It was an incredible honor to be asked to record this historic event, and we couldn’t be happier for Nick. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award. This never-before-seen footage and behind the scenes clips from the event is the perfect accompaniment to the announcement of Hall of Headlines Award. We’ve waited since July to show it to the public, and it’s finally here.”
On November 7, 2011, Guinness Book of Records recognized Nicora’s World’s Largest Commercially Available Hamburger at 777 lbs, and will enter the burger into the Book of World Records when it has been commercially available for one year. In commemoration, Stitches ‘n Dishes released never-before-seen footage in a documentary about the making of the World’s Largest Commercially Available Hamburger, including an exclusive interview and behind-the-scenes footage. The video can be viewed on the Stitches ‘n Dishes Youtube channel.
