The Top Shops Conference, presented by Modern Machine Shop, in partnership with the Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT), has announced speakers and sessions for this year’s conference. The inaugural program is based on Modern Machine Shop’s annual Top Shops benchmarking program and is highlighted by presentations by several past and present Top Shops honorees.

Taking place in Indianapolis, IN, September 5-7, 2017, the Top Shops program includes general sessions, panel discussions and breakout presentations that provide an in-depth look at tools, technologies and strategies for running and growing a manufacturing business.

Described as “by top shops, for top shops,” the program includes speakers from several of the country’s leading contract manufacturers. These industry experts will discuss topics like 5-axis machining, automation, lean implementation, machine monitoring, workforce development, tax credits, sales and marketing and much more.

More than just a conference, Top Shops will also include an exhibit room, networking events and offsite facility tours. The exhibit room will provide attendees an opportunity to connect with leading suppliers of machine tools, cutting tools, software, services and more. Exhibitors and attendees will also be able to connect during the opening reception, meals and breaks and the grand reception, which will include a celebration of this year’s Top Shops honorees. Top Shops will conclude with an offsite tour of Major Tool & Machine, a leading contract manufacturer specializing in large-part machining and assembly for industries like aerospace and defense.

“Through the Top Shops program, we have seen the very real value machining businesses find, in not just being able to benchmark their operations and processes, but to connect with peers and competitors to learn ways to better compete and succeed. Extending that value by introducing a new event that combines benchmarking, best practices and business networking was a no brainer. The conference is very much an event ‘by top shops, for shops’ and we’re very excited to welcome and celebrate leading shops from across the country at Top Shops 2017,” commented David Necessary, Event Director.

Registration is open for Top Shops Conference 2017. Full event details are available at TopShopsEvent.com.
