Minneapolis illustrator Mike Berg Seeks Kickstarter Support To Launch Innovative Children’s Book

Young Minneapolis illustrator Mike Berg has launched a crowdfunding campaign at Kickstarter seeking support for his new-age children’s book The Line. With the mission to inspire and encourage the hidden kid in everybody, the book is about the beginnings, the endings & all things in between.

The crowdfunding campaign is geared to raise around $4,500 by August 14.

“I am excited to come up and share with all of you my first children’s book ‘The Line’. The book is all about beginnings & endings and with this book, I am looking forward to inspire the little kid hidden in everybody. It tells the tale of a simple line which treads across the pages, complemented by a cute poem & watercolor illustrations. What begins as just a straight simple line, quickly transforms into a whole lot of shapes and colors- and there lies the magic of this book. But such a new-age project demands solid crowdfunding support and hence the crowdfunding campaign. Your support is much appreciated”, stated Berg while announcing the launch of his crowdfunding campaign.

A highly talented designer, developer & illustrator, Berg has worked with loads of esteemed names through his own design & development company Branberg. He has been the interface designer for Mayo Clinic, the Athletics Department at University of Minnesota & has also been the UX designer for Mirum.

Berg has already finished designing the book & it’s now all set for print. He is going to work with an overseas printer and the funding gathered from the Kickstarter campaign would be utilized to cover the printing and shipping costs of The Line.

A previous version of the book was lately read to 1st, 2nd & 3rd graders. The kids loved the new out-of-the-box concept & quickly filled several folded paper sheets with their own lines. Berg is looking forward to accept the different submissions from all readers out there, irrespective of age & share such stories with the whole world.

The book comes with a suave matte hardcover, carrying 105 pounds of internal uncoated pages.

“My plans with the story is any day much larger than me”, Berg continued while discussing about his innovative book further.

“It would be broadly understood but then would remain very personal to every reader. Whilst the story carries a conclusion yet the readers would have this privilege to draw a preferred conclusion of their own.”

A cool host of perks are waiting for the donators. These include The Line-inspired thank you postcard, copy of the book signed by the illustrator himself and so on. A donation of $75 would mean the special honor of having the donator’s name mentioned in “special thanks” section of each copy of The Line. A donation of $600 would be rewarded with the exclusive privilege of Berg personally appearing to the donator’s place for a book reading session.
