Michael Connelly to Receive LA Press Club’s Distinguished Storyteller Award

The bestselling author Michael Connelly will accept the LA Press Club's Distinguished Storyteller Award at the National A&E Journalism Awards Gala on December 2nd.

Author, former crime reporter and producer Michael Connelly is set to accept Los Angeles Press Club’s Distinguished Storyteller Award. The ceremony will take place at the National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards Gala on December 2nd at the Biltmore Hotel, downtown Los Angeles.
The Distinguished Storyteller Award honors storytellers outside of journalism.
Michael Connelly is the bestselling author of thirty-one novels and one work of nonfiction. With over seventy-four million copies of his books sold worldwide and translated into forty foreign languages, he is one of the most successful writers working today. His books about Harry Bosch is the basis for Amazon’s successful series Bosch set in Los Angeles with LA as a character and Michael Connelly as the very hands on Executive Producer. Two of his Books, Blood Work and The Lincoln Lawyer, has been made into movies.
“I’ve been telling stories true and made up about L.A. for a long time. To receive this award gives me such fulfillment. I will treasure it and always live up to it,” said Michael Connelly.

On the same evening Comedian Carol Burnett will receive the club’s Legend Award, ABC7’s Entertainment Reporter George Pennacchio will receive the Luminary Award for Career Achievement. The late Los Angeles Times Food Critic Jonathan Gold will be honored posthumously with the Impact Award, accepted by his wife Laurie Ochoa.
The Los Angeles Press Club has a long and storied history as one of the oldest and most prestigious journalist organizations in the country, serving the Southland since 1913.
The NAEJ event is a fundraiser for the LA Press Club, a 501c3 charitable organization.
The club established the NAEJ Awards in 2008 to recognize and honor quality journalism in the fastest growing segment of the modern media revolution. It remains the sole acknowledgement of its kind in the nation and has become a much anticipated celebration for those covering the Entertainment Industry and its artists.
