Any parent understands the complex emotions that come along with watching their little one struggle, but especially parents who have children with special needs and sensory challenges. It is natural to desire to help and support them in any way possible; but supporting those with sensory challenges can be incredibly complex. However, one child-centered pediatric clinic is on a mission to bridge the gap between holistic support and accessibility for the children of Orange County.
Meet Tumble N’ Dots, a private pediatric therapy practice utilizing sensory integration therapy for children with varying diagnoses, including autism, ADHD, anxiety disorder, speech delays, motor development delays, feeding delays, and sensory processing challenges. Founded by Avital Shuster, an Occupational Therapist with over a decade of experience working with children, Tumble N’ Dots is changing the face of sensory therapy by focusing on a “play all day” model.
Whether engaging in summer camps, group sessions, individual therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, or feeding therapy, children feel like they are at the playground rather than a doctor’s office. Tumble N’ Dots recently moved into a larger, fully-remodeled space in Irvine, equipped with a sensory gym, fine motor room, speech therapy room, tactile room, and feeding room empower therapists to utilize a multitude of treatment modalities to meet each child’s needs and development level.
“My vision was to create a space where children feel safe to explore, meet their sensory needs, and can fully express themselves without the fear of being judged. A space where sensory play is the tool for their development and growth. A space for families to feel supported, get educated about the underlying reasons for their child’s challenges, and where they can build themselves a community with other families that are going through the same phase in life. We feel blessed every day to have the opportunity to change lives and to support the children, their families, and their care givers.” – Avital Shuster, Founder & Clinical Director
Working in tandem with parents and caregivers, Tumble N’ Dots strives to provide the tools, education, and resources to their families and community, as they continue to support each child’s growth. Through evidence-based practice and research, dedication to innovation, and unwavering commitment to providing family-centered care to help children fulfill their potential; Tumble N’ Dot’s purpose-driven vision has come to fruition.
