Industry: Non Profit & Charity

All proceeds from upcoming event will benefit Children’s Medical Center Renal and Kidney Division

DUNCANVILLE, TEXAS (PRUnderground) June 14th, 2017

Mae Brown’s Kidneys 4 Kids will be hosting an upcoming basketball tournament fundraiser, and all of the proceeds from the event will go directly toward Children’s Medical Center’s Renal and Kidney Division to support the advancement of kidney research.

Mae Brown’s Kidneys 4 Kids was founded by Jonathan C. Johnson. Johnson suffered from renal failure at the age of 15, and he received a kidney transplant on Thanksgiving Day in 2001. Today, he is committed to advocating for kidney research while helping to raise awareness for renal disease. He is a graduate of The University of North Texas with a BA in Political Science, and he also holds a MBA. Johnson is also the author of the uplifting book A Fighting Chance. He has two sons with his wife and works tirelessly to advocate kidney disease, treatment, and research.

Through his organization, Johnson works to educate the public about renal disease and how to prevent it. Mae Brown’s Kidneys 4 Kids also works to help children with kidney problems get the funding needed for treatment, and the organization even helps facilitate being placed on the kidney transplant list.

Mae Brown’s Kidneys 4 Kids 1st Annual 3-on-3 Fundraising Basketball Tournament will be held on Saturday July 1, 2017, from 9am – 3pm. Registration will be held from 8am – 9am on the same day. The event will feature three leagues: ladies (ages 16 and up); men’s (ages 16-20); and men’s (ages 21 and up). The cost will be $30 per team.

General admission to the event will be $4; admission for kids 12 and under will be $2. All proceeds will go directly to the Renal and Kidney Division at Children’s Medical Center.

Leagues can go online to register their teams right now at mbk4kbball.com. Tickets can also be purchased from the website.

Johnson and the team at Mae Brown’s Kidneys 4 Kids are excited to host this day of fun for all ages. More information can be found at https://mbk4k.org.
